![]() I think they're all fun games and worth a buy, but I would say Dark Forces and Jedi Academy are probably more of an acquired taste. Again, here, levels vary wildly in quality, but they at least fly by at a fast enough clip that the duds don't really make much of a negative impression. Jedi Academy combat is far superior in EVERY ASPECT. Fallen order is more like dark souls with a bigger emphasis on dodging and timing blocks and attacks. outcast has fewer admin abilities but has similar game modes 4. It's also very short (my recent playthrough took me just under 6 hours, although I have played it numerous times). Jedi academys combat is more complex though. it is possible to be a gun toting merc, or just fists on most jk3 japlus servers. until the last four levels which are just a total slog. Jedi Academy is a fun little action game. ![]() The games are separate enough that you dont need to play them in order, but there is some crossover between them. Multiplayer and Force powers were available in DF2:JK but it was expanded greatly in this instalment that allowed a great level of customisation of Jedi Powers. It rose to fame partly because of its multiplayer mode. Its biggest flaw is that its level design varies wildly in quality, and, unfortunately, the first level is the best so it peaks very early. The order is: Dark Forces > Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight/Mysteries of the Sith (expansion) > Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast > Jedi Academy. Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast may be more suited for people with lower tolerance to jaggies, although it has problems of its own. ![]() Dark Forces is a well made FPS in the vein of the Build engine games. Otherwise, the game is so damn amazing I especially love all the different force techniques and I feel like Jedi Academy (especially outcast) is ahead of its time in terms of mechanics/features. Jedi Outcast is good fun, but gameplay and level-design are dumbed down from Jedi Knight, with the shooting mechanics in particular suffering, although the lightsaber combat and force powers are that rare example of streamlining done right. Mysteries of the Sith is a very solid expansion, with probably the best levels in the series, but the last few levels are garbage and the first couple levels are mediocre. While its not the best the series has been many could argue Jedi Knight II or Jedi Outcast will perpetually battle for that title Star Wars Jedi. Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is the latest installment of the highly acclaimed Jedi Knight series. ![]() Jedi Knight 1 is definitely the best, and probably the last legitimately stellar 90s FPS released before Half-Life came along and derailed the genre for two decades. I replayed all of them not too long ago, so they're pretty fresh for me. Choose wisely from an arsenal of 13 weapons including disruptor rifle, thermal detonators, trip mines and Wookiee bowcaster. ![]()
